General Accountant

NOV Angola is seeking a qualified and experienced General Accountant. The general accountant will support the Ledger controller on any of functions (accounting, tax, treasury) in close coordination with the Country Controller, Accounting Shared Service Center, Operations and Corporate functions for Africa (Finance, Treasury, Tax, Legal, HR) to make sure NOV entities are properly financially managed and are compliant with NOV accounting and local requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

In coordination with AP, AR, Accounting Shared Service Center team…

Will support the Ledger Controller to make sure following Financial processes are optimized, and provide accurate and on time information. AR (including follow up on collection), AP, Cash Costing & inventory General accounting Will support the Ledger Controller for preparation of monthly, quarterly, yearly financials that meet the NOV reporting requirements in terms of quality of accounting, deadline and documentation of controls. Will support the Ledger Controller for preparation of statutory financials that meet the statutory requirements in terms of local accounting principle and deadlines.  Will support the Ledger Controller in managing the relationship with internal auditors and statutory auditors. Will support the Ledger Controller in identifying the key internal controls through analysis of business processes that may impact the Financials, and make sure such controls are effective and documented Will support the Ledger Controller in preparing and updating key indicators, and in reporting on effectiveness of processes Will support the Ledger Controller in providing Operations with all financial information and analysis to support management decisions. Will support the Ledger Controller in partnering with Operations to highlights and analyze the key financial indicators 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SPECIAL SKILLS:

Bachelor's in accounting / Similar qualification 3 Years minimum work experience Understanding of accounting theory Highly detail orientated and organized in work Ability to meet assigned deadlines. Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives. Proficiency with email and Microsoft applications (proven ADVANCED Excel skills) Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management. Fluent in English
