Position Summary
Purpose
The Subsea Project Engineer will assist the Oceaneering Offshore Project Group (OPG) with the design, planning and execution of offshore projects, encompassing activities from initial contact with clients through proposal input, concept/ FEED, detailed engineering and planning, procurement/ manufacture to execution. Typical activities will support work scopes that include but are not limited to engineered solutions, light construction, diving and inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR). The Subsea Project Engineer will report to the Engineering Lead.
Duties & Responsibilities
Functions
ESSENTIAL
• Carries out tasks as assigned by the Engineering Lead. Tasks generally focus on technical issues but sometimes require administrative and project management functions.
• Work closely with Project Manager(s) to meet all project objectives, schedules, deliverables and milestones.
• Responsible for the engineering of subsea equipment, including development, evaluation, engineering, design, controls, procurement, and construction phases of project implementation to ensure project completion as efficiently and effectively as possible.
• Responsible for creating and reviewing engineering procedures and specifications for compliance with design principles, applicable standards, and customer requirements.
• Prepares design changes, specifications, schematics, and test plans for subsea equipment. This may include locating equipment and assisting with vendor selection.
• Review and/or conduct engineering calculations and analysis.
• Prepare engineering documents, including operation, maintenance, test, offshore procedures, task plans and storyboards.
• Review product designs, conduct and attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and System Integration Tests (SIT).
• Prepare presentations, articles, and technical papers.
• Interface with Document Control, Design Analyst and Design/Drafters during the course of project work.
• Interface inside and outside a meeting setting with project team members and Clients.
• Can perform non-engineering activities such as oversight of offshore operations and on-site oversight of OPG projects and subcontractors.
• Work and travel onshore and offshore internationally. Predominantly in Angola
Supervisory Responsibilities
• This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Reporting Relationship
• Reports to the Engineering Lead
• May take direction from Project Managers
Qualifications
Qualifications
REQUIRED
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Structural, Mechanical, Civil or Ocean Engineering)
• Must be able to obtain:
o Seamen's book
o Petroleum Education Council (PEC) Basic Training
o Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET)
DESIRED
• Mechanical, hydraulic, FEA and material specifications experience
• Experience with ROV and/or Subsea equipment design and engineering
• 5+ years of industry related engineering experience
• Knowledge of MathCAD, 3D CAD, 2D AutoCAD

Working Conditions
This position is considered 80% OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.
• Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night
• Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place
• Work surface is stable (flat)
This position is considered 20% OFFSHORE WORK which is characterized as follows.
• Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water.
• Requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment.
• Frequently the humidity is above 90%, noise is over 85 decibels and the light is intense/glare.
• Potential exposure to open fire/flames/sparks.
• Constant exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases.
• Work surface is stable, height is elevated.
