This is a great opportunity to join Eurofins Food Testing within our microbiology team. This is a full time role working 36.25 hours per week - Tuesday to Saturday 09:30 till 17:30. Training shift pattern will be Monday to Friday. 

• Preparation of media (agars etc.) to be used in microbiological analysis.
• Sample preparation in line with company protocols.
• Microbiological analysis of water/food/feed/swabs samples in line with company protocols.
• Training and operation of relevant equipment.
• General housekeeping of laboratory and prevention of cross contamination.
• Accurate Data entry into laboratory database.
• Accurate record-keeping associated with UKAS quality system
• Effective communication with all employees.
• Report any anomalous results or situations to Line Manager.
• Adhere to Health and Safety procedures are adhered to within the laboratory.
• Collection of laboratory samples from customer sites (food only, when required).
• Any other related activities as required by post. 

Wymagania

• Computer literate with experience of MS Office applications (in particular Excel).
• Comfortable working in a busy environment.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work quickly and accurately.
• Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills.
• It is desirable to have a degree in a related scientific field.
• It is desirable to have experience of culture of microorganisms and knowledge of laboratory accreditation systems (ideally ISO 17025).
