Are you ready to take the lead in country finance for a global leader in towage and marine services? Svitzer Angola is seeking a Finance Manager who can combine strong technical skills with leadership capability to join our team in Angola. As a trusted marine services provider to Angola's oil & gas industry, you will work closely with both local and international teams, playing a critical role in driving financial performance, ensuring compliance and supporting safe, reliable service to our customers.

What you can look forward to

As the Finance Manager, you will be overall responsible for the financial management and oversight of Svitzer Angola. You will partner closely with the Country Manager and Angola leadership team, lead and develop a small finance team, and ensure the business operates with robust controls, accurate reporting, and a strong focus on cost efficiency and governance.

You will also have the opportunity to work in a diverse environment, collaborating with colleagues across Angola and internationally, while engaging directly with shareholders and external stakeholders.

What you will do

As Finance Manager you will:

  • Oversee all aspects of accounting, reporting, taxation, working capital management monitoring and optimisation.

  • Ensure full compliance with statutory, corporate, and regulatory rules and obligations

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and business cases.

  • Driving financial performance, cost efficiency, and compliance across the business.

  • Manage daily finance operations, including payments, invoicing, and receivables.

  • Ensure statutory and management reporting is accurate and timely, and leading external audits.

  • Act as proactive business partner to the Country Manager and leadership team, providing financial advice, insight and challenge to support decision-making.

  • Prepare and present financial updates at Board and AGM level, and maintain close communication with shareholders.

  • Lead, coach, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Who we are looking for

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following qualifications and experience:

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • CPA/CA professional qualification.

  • Minimum 5–8 years of senior finance experience, including team leadership in an international team setting.

  • Strong financial acumen with knowledge of IFRS, tax regulations, governance, and risk & control frameworks.

  • Proven experience in accounting, statutory reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost management, financial analysis, leading external audits and ensuring compliance with corporate and statutory obligations.

  • Hands-on experience with ERP/finance systems; exposure to MS Dynamics and OneStream is an advantage.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Fluency in English and Portuguese (written and spoken).

  • Industry experience in towage, shipping, or transportation is preferred but not mandatory.
