Peacebuilding Expert for Africa

The Peace and Human Rights Division (PHRD) of the FDFA is seeking an experienced Peacebuilding Expert to support our efforts in promoting peace, human rights, and sustainable development in Africa.

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with extensive experience in conflict prevention, peacebuilding, and development. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to analyze complex political and social issues, provide strategic advice, and implement effective solutions to promote peace and stability in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze complex political and social issues in Africa, providing timely and insightful reports to inform decision-making
• Provide strategic advice to senior officials on peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and development
• Design and implement effective programs to promote peace, human rights, and sustainable development
• Liaise with international partners, governments, and civil society organizations to build alliances and support our initiatives
• Conduct training and capacity-building programs for government officials, civil society, and other stakeholders

Requirements:

• Master's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as international relations, politics, or development studies
• At least 10 years of experience in conflict prevention, peacebuilding, and development, with a focus on Africa
• Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
• Fluency in English and Portuguese, with working knowledge of French
