Conflict Resolution Specialist for Sustainable Peace

We are seeking a highly skilled Conflict Resolution Specialist to join our team in Luanda, Angola. As a key member of our peace and human rights division, you will play a vital role in promoting sustainable peace and development in the region.

The Conflict Resolution Specialist will work closely with our Resident Coordinator and national stakeholders to identify opportunities for inclusive peace and development efforts. Your primary responsibilities will include providing risk-informed analysis and strategic advice on political and socio-economic developments and conflict dynamics.

• Provide risk-informed analysis to inform UN leadership decisions and recommend timely and actionable solutions.
• Support capacity-building initiatives for the UN Country Team, focusing on contextual and political economy analysis.
• Liaise with national and regional stakeholders to identify entry points for dialogue and peacebuilding initiatives.
• Establish and maintain networks with key partners, including civil society, academia, and international organizations.

We are the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs' Peace and Human Rights Division (PHRD), dedicated to promoting peace, stability, and human rights globally. Our mission is to support countries in consolidating peace and achieving sustainable development.

To be successful in this role, you will need a Master's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as conflict resolution, international relations, or politics. You should have at least 10 years of experience in programming and project management, particularly in conflict prevention and peacebuilding.

In return for your expertise, we offer a competitive salary of $85,000 per annum, plus benefits and a comprehensive relocation package. This is a one-year contract, with the possibility of extension.
